In a game that should have ad plenty of reason for motivation, Calgary crapped their pants and didn't show. Rather than produce a post-game on the game I'll just outline some key reasons why the Stamps sucked tonight.
1. The defence is too small and poorly coached. Maybe it's the post-game anger but the D has appeared incapable of stopping the run ALL season . The only pressure on the QB was due to BC errors not Calgary pressure. The D-line was manhandled all night long--I suppose it should be expected. When management went out and blew loads of money on receivers (i.e. Boerigter) they forgot to drop some cash on the defence.
2. Need more motivation? Akili Smith comes in with much anticipation but ends up going out early in the second quarter. Barrick Nealy came in in relief but wasn't a factor. Poor playing calling all night was mostly due to options at QB. Calgary is in deep trouble at QB.
3. Need more motivation? Wally Buono disses the entire Calgary organization by holding a press conference to show the league how the late hit by Moreno was clean and legal. Who is he kidding? The man should not be welcome back in this city again the way he slaps the organization in the face.
4. By the way the defence was terrible again.
5. In case you were wondering, the third stringer for BC was playing all game and our third stringer came in half way through. This is a good example of how the CFL and the Calgary Stamps do not value developing quarterbacks. Is the talent pool this poor? Probably not because BC can develop QB's why can't Calgary?
I"ll shut this embarrassment down now but I will leave with one note. Chris Walby and the CBC production is junk. Can you believe how lopsided and boring the CBC coverage of the CFL is. Am I the only one bored by this second rate production? Just try to sit through their half time show; can they not string together a lasting thought? It's brutal to watch but what can you do. The network can't handle triple headers so stop producing them. Maybe I'm just bitter.
