Calgary should have won, which is good, considering the team needs momentum going into the playoffs set to being in Saskatchewan in one week. Tonight BC definitley didn't cover the 8 point spread and certainly didn't 'blow out' the Stamps. In fact, without the help of some timely calls from terrible officials in the forth, the game may have been won. A last second field goal attempt by Sandro Deangelis hit the upright from the 52 for no score, so in reality, BC needs to shake their head after this match up more than Calgary.
At the end of the day it comes down to this: in a meaningless game did Calgary show enough improvement to convince fans they have a chance they'll win next Sunday? I think they did, but here are the areas we need to have a solid 60 minute game in order for that to happen:
1. No dumb penalty calls by idiot officials. We keep hearing how the league is going to invest in the officials in the off season (more than usual I guess?) But right now there are 3-4 stupid calls a game, both teams.
2. Reduce penalties, and untimely penalties at that.
3. The defence, all aspects, need I say more?
4. Special teams. The punting situation still hasn't been solved, WTF?
5. The defence.
That is all, more on the upcoming playoff date to come!
