Stamps Clinch First: Calgary 28 – Hamilton 17

The Calgary Stampeders have clinched first place in the West Division which means a bye to the Western Division final and a home game (get your tickets fast). It was essentially a gimmie, some people hyped up Hamilton's abilities, but in reality they had no chance against the Stamps. However, all is not in place for the Stampeders just yet, a slow start and a sputtering offence in the first and fourth quarter.

Special teams made their impact first as Charleston Hughes made a block on a long Hamilton field goal attempt. Although Calgary only managed three points, Hughes, along with the defence forced turnovers and limited Hamilton's offence for three quarters.

On the offensive side of the ball Burris did manage to catch a rhythm but had his fair share of trouble fumbling twice and throwing for two interceptions along with his two TD. Reynolds ran three quarters and managed to crack the hundred yard mark which will probably give him the league rushing title.

The Stamps will return home to get ready for next week's battle against the Lions in a mean nothing game for the Stampeders. look for more of the starters to play in that game despite the stakes. It's three weeks away until the final and that's a long time away....long enough to prepare for victory or flop....
