Mike Labinjo Signed to Three Year Deal
Not even a day after city wide celebrations the Stampeders announced they have signed defensive end Mike Labinjo to a multiyear contract extension that will keep him with the Stampeders through the 2011 season.
The Toronto native was enormous during the Stampeders Grey Cup run with three sacks, 8 tackles and a forced fumble in Calgary's West Division final victory over the BC Lions, and a sack, three tackles and three knockdowns against the Alouettes in the Grey Cup game.
Labinjo tied for the team lead with five sacks and finished second in the CFL with six tackles for a loss. He finished the season with two forced fumbles and 31 tackles.
The 28-year old Labinjo joined the Stampeders in 2007 after four seasons in the NFL with the Philadelphia Eagles, Indianapolis Colts and Miami Dolphins.
