No repeat, no epic Grey Cup party for the city. Today's game went off with problems from the get go. First TSN dropped the feed screwing up again and suggesting maybe the CRTC wants to rethink broadcasting Canada's game (Grey Cup is only on cable now) to the entire country rather......Nonetheless, Calgary came out and stunk out the joint, folding under the loud noises of drunken hicks.
How did the game go down? I got an idea, let's abandon the only working component of the offence, the run game, and let's stop nothing on defence. A great combination to win a Grey Cup. Calgary displayed in their loss in Saskatchewan that it wasn't about who was going to play mistake free football, but who was the better football team. Without a doubt, one can't argue that the Roughriders are the better football team. They never lost to the Stamps, whereas the Stamps always choked in the big games.
This afternoon Calgary had a good first quarter but then folded the tent. Burris threw interceptions, the defence made few stops, special teams gave up big plays. No point covering this team; but last thought: I'm glad I didn't go through and buy tickets to the Grey Cup.
