Stampeders Annihilate Eskimos 56 – 15

August 17, 2010 · No Comments

Man things aren't going well in Edmonton. The brunt of all jokes from Calgary, the city of Edmonton is at a loss for words after their depantsing Sunday versus the league leading Stampeders. You can't even make fun of the Eskimos because the team is just SO bad that you'd feel like it's kind of like kicking a lame puppy.

Nothing for the Eskimos is working and now they may be without starting QB Ricky Ray after he was crunched early in the first quarter. The only interesting thing about the Eskimos is the sporadic attempts at the Bronco formation.

On the other side of the ball Calgary seems to be putting together a more consistent effort. Albeit Edmonton isn't a huge test (and we play them twice in the next three games). The offence put up good numbers despite falling asleep in the third quarter. No interceptions from Henry Burris, a nice game from the receivers, but another sub-100 yard game from Reynolds who continues to be underutilized.

Defensively the Stamps didn't have much to contend with but the front four and the linebacking corps are putting in some huge hits and stops. The secondary also came up big with a couple of interceptions. Dwight Anderson returned his for a touchdown.

The next three game will be a test for the Stamps--to see whether they can retain focus against BC and Edmonton--two teams that are currently feeding at the bottom trough in the CFL.

Notes: Stamps enter their first bye-week of the season.
