Do you know how good the Calgary Stampeders are? The defence didn't surrender offensive points until late in the second half, a field goal, and that was IT for scoring! Offensively they've put up over 156 points in three games using 2 running backs and 3 QBs.
Yes, they are that good.
Again, I'll point out, Milt Stegall and his second week prediction that 'the Calgary Stampederse are an average team' is not only dead wrong, but they shouldn't let the dude back on TV.
Wild Plays of the Game
2 Minutes left in the first half transpired like a shootout in the old West that started when Burke Dales burst down the field after a punt and recovered the ball. A rare play in the CFL but one that was called back because Dales touched the returner before the ball. Tough call, and a bit weird; the alternative for Dales would be to dive for the ball and at the same time blow out the knees of the returner.... Live and learn I guess.
2 plays later Ricky Ray threw an interception. That was on the start. On the ensuing offensive play Burris threw an interception to give the ball back. Not to be outdone on the very NEXT play Ricky Ray threw an interception that was juggled by Brandon Smith and returned for a major. Game over.
I'd like to think the Eskimos will be better in 5 days, but that just won't happen. Just like a sign at the game said, "Edmonton, City of 1st Round Picks", Which is pretty much where they're going this year.
Notes: Backup QB Drew Tate has thrown for 4 consecutive touchdowns in as many games. Nik Lewis has surpassed 500 catches in his career this aft. Henry Burris, congrats on entering the top 10 all-time QB in CFL history (passing yards).
