This will be interesting. Veteran backup QB Drew Tate will get his first start of the season as the Stampeders face the Roughriders Friday. Out is Henry Burris, who's season has been up and down at best.
I like the move, especially after Tate took control of the offence mid-way through the Toronto game. What I don't like is the timing. With three games to go, we can expect the Stamps to beat the hapless Riders. That leaves Montreal as the real test for Tate. If he folds against them, that's only one game for Burris to come back (for the coaches to make a decision), in the season finale against Winnipeg.
But let's see how things fair this Friday. Who knows, we may be watching the next Dave Dickenson or Jeff Garcia in the making.....
Also coming in will be Joffrey Reynolds who'll be itching to put up big numbers. I still think he factors heavily into the offence.
