Dickenson Suffers Concussion?
Just like that, a little hit on the side and bang, the chronic head problem man at 36 Dave Dickenson is out for nine games. He was damaged goods to begin with but did we really thing an innocent play in the third quarter would cause the damage it did? Dickenson was placed on the nine-game injured reserve list and the Stampeders have filled the back up roll with Ben Sankey (or perhaps third stringer).

Allen Cameron from the Calgary Herald is reporting the latest QB signing for the Stampeders, Xavier Lee from Florida State (as reported in Daytona).
Lee was originally trying out with the Baltimore Ravens who placed him at tight end (he's 6, 5") until he was released in June, pursued other options, and now comes to the Stamps. He won't supplant Barrick Nealy unless injuries mount--Lee will spend the rest of the year on the practice roster.

Nothing since Christmas but the first big announcement from the Hufnagel era has arrived. Not a week after George Cortez opted to remain in Calgary as offensive coordinator instead of heading to Saskatchewan to be coach, the Stamps signed backup/starter QB Dave Dickenson for around 100,000. The move puts Calgary in the strongest position to win the Grey Cup for 2008.
Dickenson's contract is for one year plus an option. More articles below.

You heard it right, Maxie is back from scouting right onto the practice field. Two DL's from Saturday's game against Edmonton fell ill, Keron Williams and Anthony Gargiulo, that meant no more imports to play the position. No problem for the Stamps. Maxie is a NFL scout and got the call to come back into town and start practicing.
Although Maxie is eager, the head coach has made it clear it's only a short term fix. Maxie will factor in at nose tackle on a few plays to give backup and now starter, Randy Chevrier, a chance to rest.
