Dickenson Suffers Concussion?
Just like that, a little hit on the side and bang, the chronic head problem man at 36 Dave Dickenson is out for nine games. He was damaged goods to begin with but did we really thing an innocent play in the third quarter would cause the damage it did? Dickenson was placed on the nine-game injured reserve list and the Stampeders have filled the back up roll with Ben Sankey (or perhaps third stringer).

Calgary Outplayed, Outworked, Outclassed
How bad do you want it? Second place that is. Clearly the Calgary Stampeders knew the magnitude of the game being both the Labour Day Classic -- huge
Telus TV subscribers missed the first five minutes of the game as the noobs tried to figure out how to work their system. TSN blacked out the game but they brought it back on their alternate feed (so they never really technically blacked it out) but Telus TV does not provide subscribers with a TSN ALT feed. So you just sat there watching a blank screen ready to scream. Turns out, it wouldn't matter, as Edmonton dominated from the opening kick-off.

Gotta love the Stamps blog, they are doing a great job profiling players on a regular basis. Makes us think we should just go out of business.... but then who would say the things everyone thinks but won't say?
Jermain Copeland tonight will tie the knot with his long-time girlfriend. Congrats Jermaine, now go and catch a football dude.....
Allen Cameron from the Calgary Herald is reporting the latest QB signing for the Stampeders, Xavier Lee from Florida State (as reported in Daytona).
Lee was originally trying out with the Baltimore Ravens who placed him at tight end (he's 6, 5") until he was released in June, pursued other options, and now comes to the Stamps. He won't supplant Barrick Nealy unless injuries mount--Lee will spend the rest of the year on the practice roster.

Previous CFL experience includes the Hamilton Tiger-Cats, Curry was one of the final cuts made this past pre-season. His short-term signing means Marcus Howell is out for the two Labour Day games and an import receiver will come out.

Coming off their bye week and a win in Saskatchewan, Calgary looked to join Edmonton for second place in the log jammed Western standings. They would show up in a mostly consistent fashion scoring 36 points to defeat BC in BC Place for the first time since 2002.

Nobody likes the Roughriders, nor their fans. I personally think it's hilarious that Marcus Crandell, hot in 2001, is the best the team could come up with. (Forget the fact he threw for more yards than Burris and less interceptions of course
). Having said that, a team with mounting injuries and a crappy quarterback still manage to put up wins, until tonight. In five quarters of football stretching back to the last time these two teams met the Roughriders managed a junky five points.

Stamps Sleep in the First
What do you get when unemployed Rider fans leave their province, get a job in Alberta, never return to Saskatchewan, but still wear the Green and Gold? Beats me, I've met plenty but I can only pit the fact the loser province only has one professional sports team that they vehemently root for their beloveds.
It's much easier to root when the team wins as well..... However, tonight, if it wasn't for a lucky bounce and some referee aided play, Saskatchewan would have been beaten easily. Perhaps this is a good omen for the Stamps, a cocky Saskatchewan team may mean easy pickings in the second installment of the home at home.
Marcus Crandell was hot, back in 2001. That was seven years ago. Apparently the man still has legs. Actually he doesn't, he's marginal at best, but what he does have is a great team and solid play calling to back him up. Calgary? They folded under pressure. Let's review the first half.
